I still have that Aria! Unfortunately the intonation is pretty well shot on it. I could get it fixed for a few hundred dollars, but the guitar only cost me $129 back in '72 when I bought it at Danbury's Music Guild.
Never fear, for I have sated my guitar jones by purchasing a Fender "nashville telecaster" . It looks like your normal tele, but has an extra pickup on it so I can flip a switch and make it sound like a strat. I know only a fellow musician could appreciate something like that.

I'm almost working for the government and am, in fact, writing this from my office deep in the bowels of the VT Dept. of Education. I actualy work for a non-profit (if you're really interested the URL for it is: http://www.vdcmembers.org/) that it putting together a n educational data warehouse to help the state and local school districts figure out how to deal with "No Child Left Behind" (another product of that his bozo-nesss George W.)

So far as radio stations, if you've got time and bandwidth, checkout the feed of this local station. http://musicheads.us/ Its on the main page. Its LITERALLY a mom and pop radio station with the studio "downstairs" :-) If you get a chance to listen, let me know what you think.

Just kidding. I don't own a gun and hopefully never will. My brother has about 200 (he's a collector and most of his are antiques that will never be fired again) but he's down in Virginia so we can all feel safe. He works for the Park Service and nobody's ever heard of a disgruntled Park Ranger so I guess we're safe.

The trip across the Pond sounds great. I hope to be able to visit England and Ireland some day. We'd probably fly, as I'm not sure I'd care to meet up with either an iceberg OR Leonardo DeCaprio, but hey, I'm sure the buffet will be a LOT better on the boat.

Not a heck of a lot happening here right now, but that usually means a whole bunch of stuff is right around the corner. I go in for shoulder surgery on the 22nd and will be out of work for about a month. Notice I didn't say I would MISS work.
Not so much a job-related thing as an age-related one. Arthritis has been creeping in for a while and it's starting to affect my shredded rotator cuff ( which I earned playing rec league softball for about 5 years longer than I should have). It's not supposed to be that big a deal, although it will take some time getting used to being called "Lefty". Having not done any drugs for quite a while, it should be interesting to see what kind of post-op assortment they prescribe.

Other than that, I'm just working, helping my union local (ex-XCI'er Bruce Anderson & I are the co-editors of our award-winning branch newsletter), mowing the lawn and trying to keep the neighborhood critters at bay. We're having some work done on the house and getting it painted.

I don't really miss being involved in radio one bit. Considering what passes for popular culture these days, I'm very happy to not be involved.
As far as I'm concerned, both Britney & Lindsay could dress up in Princess Di's best gowns and go flying off a cliff, and I would not consider it a tragedy. Now if they chained themselves to Bush before taking that dive, that might approach GREAT, but I don't see it happening.
Most popular music today really sucks. Very derivative and nothing really original. Still some good radio out there, but mostly from the college end of the dial. Mainstream radio is frightfully tedious and boring. The good music is getting harder to find but it's out there. I absolutely refuse to pay for satellite radio.

I dunno.....maybe I'm just getting a head start at being a crotchety old fart.
